For 30 years I ate when I was bored. I ate when I was mentally drained from my job. I ate when I was frustrated with my kids. I ate when I felt hopeless. I ate when I was depressed. I ate when I was anxious. I ate when I was tired or not feeling well (those two were big ones for me!). My thinking was, “I can’t do anything about what’s going on but grabbing something to eat will help me feel better.”… until I was done overeating, and then I felt even worse!
I didn’t hear the term Emotional Eating until I was in my 30’s and thought, that’s not me; I love food. I love to eat, that’s the problem!
I didn’t understand what emotional eating really was. All I knew was that things were going on in my life, and I was hungry… I need to eat!
In today’s podcast, I go over what is Emotional Eating. The difference between physical hunger and emotional hunger and the steps I took to end my Emotional Eating.
So if you are struggling to lose weight and have done a bunch of diets, you know what to eat. It is not another diet you need that focuses on the food. What’s happening is you need to learn how to stop the emotional eating!
That’s what worked for me! I lost 100 lbs over 12 years ago when I ended my emotional eating, and I have kept it off since then!
