Today I’m talking about what decision fatigue is and how it leads Nurses to burn out. When we combat decision fatigue or limit the decisions we make, the less stressed we will feel.
We face having to make hundreds of decisions every day- from what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat, what to wear to more complicated decisions like the ones we have to make at work to best do our job.
No matter how strong you are, with all the decisions you make throughout the day you eventually will feel depleted, and when that happens, your ability to make the best choices does not occur. These are the times you tell yourself you need more willpower… but it is not more willpower you need!
In today’s podcast, I’m teaching you how you can decrease the decisions you make every day so that you are not running on empty by the end of the day because that is why you end up on the couch, binge-watching Netflix, eating out of the bag of chips.
Making decisions ahead of time will decrease the number of decisions you will be making in your day, and one of the tools I use with my clients is 24 hr planning.
