Do you love peaches?

I love the quote by Brooke Castillo saying “You can be the juiciest peach in the world, but there’s always going to be someone who doesn’t like peaches.”

We spend too much time worrying about what other people think of us or trying to control their opinion of us.

So many of us put so much time and energy into wanting people to like us. Many people even want those people who we don’t like to like us, isn’t that crazy!

All of this is a waste of time. The truth is we have absolutely no control over how other people think of us no matter how hard we try. The only thing we have control over is our thoughts about our opinions.

They are going to think about what they are going to think, no matter how much you pretend to be someone else. Do you want to show up as a version that is not you? What would happen if you decided to show up as yourself? Be the peach? Remember, it isn’t about you. Embrace who you are because you will not be able to make someone who doesn’t like peaches like you, and that’s okay. It is not your fault that they don’t like peaches.

When we show up as ourselves and a peach lover comes along the connection is real and genuine. The peach haters will come along and then keep going because they are not meant to be our people anyways.

You cant be the one to decide whether or not someone likes you. That person will have their own opinions based on their life experiences and preferences. It is such a game changer to give them permission in your mind not to like you. Saying to yourself, it’s okay, they don’t like peaches. It’s nothing personal.

The reason we want people to like us is because of what we are making it mean. For most of us, we make it mean we’re unlikeable, that there is something wrong with us. But remember, their opinion of you has nothing to do with you. Don’t let their opinion define who you are and don’t let it affect whether you like yourself.

When you are ok with other peoples opinions and criticism of you that is when you will show up and be your true self every day. Let others be who they are.
